How It Works
- Set canvas size: Choose a grid size — common options are 8×8, 16×16, 32×32, or a custom size for your sprite or artwork.
- Pick colors: Select from a palette or enter custom hex/RGB values. The palette supports saving custom colors.
- Draw: Click or drag across the grid to paint pixels. Use the eraser, fill bucket, and symmetry tools to speed up your work.
- Export: Download your pixel art as a PNG at the native size or scaled up (e.g. 10× for a crisp 320×320 image).
Why Use Pixel Art Editor?
Pixel art is the foundation of retro game sprites, app icons, favicon design, and a major contemporary art style. This browser-based editor requires no installation and works on any device — including tablets with stylus input. The constraint of working pixel-by-pixel within a small grid is creatively productive: it forces deliberate choices and produces crisp results that scale perfectly. The editor includes a colour palette, symmetry mode for mirrored sprites, and undo history, providing everything needed to create professional-quality sprite art.
Tools Available
